Interesting Insight on Population Control

In a recent debate for presidentiables in the Philippines, Raul Roco, a candidate was asked on his stand on the Chruch's stand on population and contraception. He said that there are many kids being born in the Philippines because the parents are poor and that making babies is their hobby because they have no jobs and no other means of entertainment (ie TVs).

Raul Roco said:
"So there must be a true pro-poor policy [on population management]," "There must be a conscious effort to be pro-poor. The poor pin their hopes on the young, and that is why we say, knowledge through education. That is the real solution."
